Which bipod do you prefer?
For general range/field use, not F class..
Thinking of getting some for my .22, .223 AR, 260 Rem (when I get it) and another .223 build.
Have been looking at Harris 6-9's, but wondered if there was much else that's any good?

Re: Which bipod do you prefer?
I currently have three Harris bipods - a basic non-tilt 6-9", a tilt 9-12" and a tilt 9-12" with sprung legs - IMO the latter is by far the best of the three.
I'm toying with getting an AccuShot Atlas for my .300WSM, they have a new one in the pipeline which looks very tempting.
I'm also looking at Versapod.

Re: Which bipod do you prefer?
I've got the 6-9" harris tilt with sprung legs for target work and it's utterly bombproof, but I think the 9-12" is usually recommended for field work (extra height to clear grass etc)
Re: Which bipod do you prefer?
As a follow-on, the new AccuShot Atlas model is the 5-H which is a cross between the traditional Atlas and the TRG bipod with a much wider footprint.

Re: Which bipod do you prefer?
The atlas ones look good, and the cost doesn't look much different to a harris+adapter.
Is there much of a weight difference, the atlas ones look chunky!

Re: Which bipod do you prefer?
Looks like the Atlas ones are about the same weight as the Harris offerings...
Re: Which bipod do you prefer?
I've never handled an Atlas off of a rifle, but I like them - the construction is more solid than Harris IMO.
The 5-H isn't out yet, but there's a serious chance I'll buy one when it is.

Re: Which bipod do you prefer?
I had a bog standard Harris bipod but found after a year or so that one of the legs was playing up. Bought an Atlas one intead - rock solid, amazing bit of kit - should be too as it cost a fair bit!!

Really? I always thought the atlas' were far more (ie. 2x+) than the harris offering?techguy wrote:The atlas ones look good, and the cost doesn't look much different to a harris+adapter.

I was fortunate that my SVDS came complete with the Russian bipod designed specifically to fit a Dragunov.I was lucky as they fetch silly money, especially on American websites.
