It's strange how people think a less accurate rifle is more exciting.
The bloke who's AI AW.308 I've shot, said "it makes it too easy." The irony is and assuming you've already honed your load development, you can't make a less accurate rifle shoot more accurately simply by trying harder. Although I guess sometimes it might produce better results just through random inaccuracies. I was blown away by the AI and the accuracy was so good, it illustrated I wasn't the weakest link, when in fact it was the rifle/ammo combo.
I can't wait to get one.

A less accurate rifle is not exciting. Any AI chambered in 7,62x51 should be accurate and quite capable of working with any milsurp that will chamber. Move to the Lapua HPS or home loaded 170 Lockbase and you will see a step change. Great stuff for accuracy nuts however using such a rifle at 600 yards is never going to be particularly challenging, try pushing them to 1200 yards and things change dramatically and this makes shooting them a lot more fun.
My favourite discipline with my AI is shooting McQueen type Huns Heads at 600 yards, something the AI's work very well with. In my case instead of a castle with predictable apertures I prefer to shoot the Huns Head as it peeps out of the grass, 3-5 second exposures, 5-10 seconds between across a 20m bank and 30 shots to be fired just to keep the concentration up.
A mandatory position change at some stage is fun as well.

I agree, I was just turning the the Viking's comment on it's head. If an accurate rifle is boring, then presumably a less accurate rifle is more interesting... As I mentioned, I've heard similar comments before, it just sounded a little strange to me when I sat down and thought about it.
Sounds like fun, I'm looking forward to pushing mine when I get it and hopefully in .260 it should be OK out to 1200. Considering I've never shot beyond 100 yards, that sounds like a good day out to me!
Christel shoots a 22 CHRISTEL which is undoubtedly one of the most accurate rifles I have ever shot, downside is as far as she is concerned all other cartridges are poor alternatives to the real thing.
