Happy Father's Day :-)
While I know to some of you this is just another corporate BS day but for me it was an excuse to go shooting :-)
I took my dad to my local range and, even though he wasn't allowed to shoot, we still had a good morning zeroing the VTR and failing miserably with the G22 again.
My dad learned a bit, hopefully he'll make it to a club day and we can get him membership.
Now I'm just waiting for the wifey to cook Sunday dinner while I chill out on the sofa, baby girl asleep on my chest.
Happy Father's Day everyone :-)

We went and saw my parents yesterday so a full day in the frozen North and then my son came over to see me today so a nice relaxing break from reality. No doubt I will be in front of a machine before 08:00 tomorrow however it has been worth it.

Two cards and Amazon vouchers(unexpected!) from my grown up kids - unfortunately my middle daughter has fallen out with me (easily done, I suppose) and didn't bother.
All in all a nice day though and a good morning's shooting.

Not a sausage here
Got two birthday cards on Wednesday, one from my ex father-in-law and one from my best friend. My eldest wished me a Happy Birthday via Facebook from Amsterdam and my daughter remembered on the afternoon!.
Bah, Humbug!

Got mi Old Man a height adjustable invalid chair for his bench shooting (he's not an invalid, but it's perfect for the purpose (light and adjustable)), and a little gold-plated SMLE badge for his range hat - then spent the afternoon clearing 2 car loads of rubbish from his recent garage and shed clear-out (which has cleared last night's hangover)...
...and now me and my sister are taking him and my mum out for a meal; as I'm far too knackered to start cooking...

Another commercial push ...
MY daughter has been told off in the past for buying me a Father's Day present.
Just be thankful we are not in the US: The card and gift industry keeps inventing new "days" as a way to fleece the public.

Re: Happy Father's Day :-)
Spent most of the day cleaning up the carnage left over from my sons birthday bash! 10 9 year olds over on Sat for a sugar fuelled rampage with bbq, camping over night in the garden, water fights and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit-had to douse that thou when they discovered it was more fun to wait until they caught fire and flick them at each other.
. The last one of the little darlings fell asleep at nearly 1 a.m. and they were up again, rip-arsing around the garden at 4.30 a.m. Muggins here opted to sleep in the garden with them to keep an eye on things. Guess who had the airbed with a leak
We had to bury my dear old Mother-in-law on Friday afternoon so we had another bbq for various family members yesterday afternoon/evening before they headed back to their respective parts of the country.
I need a rest!!

Re: Happy Father's Day :-)
well yesterday was very special as it was my first fathers day
My finacee's son Tobi who's 13 has been calling me dad since they moved in last July, which is great and I'm looking to adopt him officially.
I received a nice personalised card from him via Moonpig.com and a CD
Yesterday was a guest day at Oundle so we toddled off up there and Debbie shot her first rifle and loved it :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout: so it looks like we'll be going for a family membership...

Had a great Sunday afternoon with my old man hearing about his antics in the army whilst serving in Malaysia, Trinidad, Oman and Kuwait. I often wonder how he managed to pull so many interesting gigs, I guess there were many more options in the 60's & 70's.
