Rifleman798,
As much as I appreciate my K31 and CZ550 chambered in 7.5x55 and 308 respectively, my 223 Rem CZ527 is probably my favourite rifle.
It's economic to reload and using the Hornady 68 grain BTHP bullet (#2278) it's very accurate too at 200-300 yards (even at 600 yards on Century). I get excellent results with VIHT N133.

The .223 is a nice round, not my personal favourite but extremely accurate like you said with the right set up. Im new to the reloading scene but looking forward to learning :)

Ask away on the reloading front, the forum has a good spread of old and new reloaders covering all sorts of common and obscure cartridges and cast boolits. I am just starting to load cast 190's for my .303's so there is always something to learn.

Best Mausers made and a tack driver of a cartridge.

Still deciding whether or not to sell my sporterised m/38 - the sticking point is, I can't fault the rifle and round combination - but it's my deer rifle and I'm not going after deer any more - so I don't really need it, but I really, really like to shoot it! :?

Re: 3rd fullbore rifle, what calibre
Can I put a scope on an M96? I had a look on google but the results were a little vague. It looked like I could get an offset mount like I had for my K31. I didn't get on at all with that so I wouldn't go down that route again.
It looked like maybe I could get a mount for a scout scope. Do any of you have any experience with those?
Thanks,
Paul.

I fitted a S & K Insta Mount on my K31 to replace the rear sight for a long eye relief scope. S & K also manufacture mounts for both the M96 and M38 Mauser but they don't export from the USA.
I bought mine from http://www.henke-online.de because I couldn't find anything suitable in the UK.
Sonja Weiberg and Karin Wübben were both very helpful if you know what you're looking for. I ordered by email as I couldn't find the item in their catalogue, paid by credit card and it was delivered to the UK for 10.39 Euro.

Both ship to the UK - I've used the top one before.
I'm fortunate :!: :?: in that mine has been drilled and tapped for mounts
