Getting back to Thomas Hamilton's license renewal stages in 1991 & in 1995: Hamilton was a known danger to the public, since 1989. In 1991 Central Scottish Police force's CID were investigating him & supervising this case a Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, wrote a report on Hamilton's suitability to continue to posses firearms, to ACC Douglas McMurdo, but this report vanished from file, allegedly destroyed by McMurdo in the shredder.
McMurdo had the final say on Hamilton's license, despite fighting with DS Hughes, CID & the Firearms licensing Manager, over this decision & therefore he has blood on his hands, as he & Hamilton were fellow Masons, at the same lodge.
One reason why coppers shouldn't be Masons.
At least this police officer is being proactive & he's the right guy to be in the job, unlike McMurdo.
I got my information from The Cullen Enquiry documents & from Mike Wells of The Sportsmans Association.
Hamilton's license would never be revoked as long as he was a mason. This explains how Kenneth Noye had legal guns, despite being a career criminal- in with bent police at a masonic lodge.

No, that's quite a revelation. Is this hearsay or are there court documents that confirm these points?

All I can say is that I read some of this information on The Sportsman Association Column in the Gun Mart magazine. Mike Wells is updating the website, so the relevant articles aren't available on his website at the moment,.
The other information was read from the Cullen Enquiry online & I think that Mike Wells too had a link to it, but on his website it isn't available as yet.
So I will see if the relevant documents are still on line & I will send the link.
As for the mason link, both Hamilton & Kenneth Noye had gun licenses & were masons, when they shouldn't of had them. If someones in with the masons, then they have the means to get their way, like those two did.
When that 100 year closure order expires on Dunblane, Im betting that some of this info I've mentioned will come to light.

And where do you find your reference to Noy having a licence?

Complete sensationalist speculation, clearly due to your youthful exuberance.
If you want to properly inform yourself without the excitable conjecture, try Grand Lodge as first port of call for your enquiries.

DL. As far as Hamilton is concerned, it has been shown and proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hamilton was never a member of the two lodges he claimed membership of. Don't know if you will remember but back in 2004 I think it was, Grand Lodge Scotland opened up it's membership books for those two lodges to the Scotsman Newspaper who confirmed that all entries were original, all entries sequential in dates, that no entries or pages were missing and finally that Thomas Hamilton was never a Freemason.
