Westlake alfa nitro muzzle loading revolver

As above does anyone have one of these
If so how do you find them any probs ?
I Have a slot for one on my fac for when one comes up and would like some first hand thoughts on it

I've had a fondle of the alfa, and it looks nice, feels nice in the hand..but it's ROUGH as anything... the finish is terrible (not the work done by Alan, but the gun which is started with is a really low budget revolver..)

He's usually at the Bisley events like the Phoenix, go along and have a feel of one before you order!

The Alfa is much better made and finished than the Armscor. But then it is twice the price. The Armscor is "parkerised" but tbh mine was more akin to "cresoted". Whereas the Alfa is properly blued. Overall build quality and fit on the Alfa is much better than the Armscor. The action is more precise and it feels like a properly made revolver. Whereas my Armscor ( and all the others in my club) are tempremental and have needed TLC from a big hammer to make them work.

Club members with Alfa are pleased with them so far.

Having shot both, if I could afford one - I'd go for the Alfa...

As techguy said, rough. Single action trigger pull nice, double action horrible. Fit and finish of the donor revolver, appalling. A real shame to have something of Westlake quality stuff into something of such poor quality. The one I tried has also been back at least once for repair.

It was said somewhere that Westlake didn't have the choice of donor gun as no one else would make that specific unit for UK consumption and hence s1. Well, I'd love to see how they are UK specific. The barrel was still marked up ".357 Magnum Cartridge" but, "ML" (I presume means muzzle loading) had been electro stencilled as a prefix before the serial number....

Mine is for sale if you're interested, first generation and good quality remington new army..... just don't get the time to use it anymore.

Happens to be the one which is pictured on Alans site.
