Is this email from the NRA a bit rude?

#1 Post by Quarters »

I've always been a big supporter of the NRA and want to continue to do so but I've had an email from them today that I think is a bit blunt in its tone. I'd like to know what you think and also whether they can do what they say they might.

I keep my rifle and ammunition at the NRA and each year they send me a bill. It arrived today by email with this note:

"Good morning,

Please send payment for the attached invoice/s ASAP. Payment needs to be received by the 9th of May 2014, if not we will have no other option but to give you notice that we will be sending your firearms to auction.

Many thanks"

I have no objection or problem in paying and I knew full well the bill was on its way (although it does seem to arrive at a different time of year each year).

It seems a rather harsh way to talk to your customers.

You have to see it in the context of post modern customer care.

You are there for them, they are not there for you.

Why don't you complain to your regional rep or any members of general council that you may know.
I know I would be if I received an e-mail that was as blunt as that.

I take your point but if a garage bill said up in the next 5 minutes or we'll take they new tyres back off I'd pay up and never take my car there again. Don't the NRA want my money and support?

Just a thought, perhaps they already sent an email and this is a reminder. That would stack with the tone, perhaps it's in your junk email list, worth a look to save a possible egg on face scenario. :squirrel:
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

On the face of it, it does seem rather harsh, but as has already been stated, perhaps this is a reminder for something which you never received?

Is there a reason why you can't have your weapons at home?

Hi
I really haven't received anything prior to this. I've had my rifle at the NRA for several years and each year they seem to not get it quite right. They've sometimes forgotten to send me bill, sent it out at random times of the year or sent to me after the final date for payment has already past.

I'm guessing this is a final demand after not sending me an initial demand. That does seem to fit in with previous errors and issues.

I'd rather not day whose name is on the bottom as I don't want like to name and shame in public.
