FAC & Club Attendence Minimum Requirements

#1 Post by M1Charles1M »

This is a bit of research.

Some people appear to have restrictions placed on their FAC that they must attend their nominated Range or Club a minimum number of times within a given period to ensure they keep their FAC entitlement?

Does this still exist?

Please vote above and post the name of the issuing force please?

I don't, but bear in mind what the guidance advises.

Could it be a club, rather than FAC requirement and wires have got crossed?

No mention of such a condition in the Home Office Guidance list of conditions

Nothing for me in Bedfordshire however I do know our club secretary keeps an attendance list which I believe is submitted to the local FET. When the Viking slipped a disk I mentioned her lack of attendance at the range to my FEO and he was quite indignant that I should even suggest such a thing would jeopardise her FAC, his primary interest was that her back issues were resolved.

There is no minimum on my FAC, but my club secretary has (from what I understand) enforced a minimum of 1 visit for every 3 months unless you have good reason. This apparently was under the insistence of Avon & Somerset.

Non on the ticket but there is a general condition that firearms may only be used whilst a member of club X (primary club).
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

Our club states a minimum of three attandances a year and take a very heavy handed (in my opinion) way to resolve any queries they have about it to.
The rest I have deleted cause it would just be consequenses for me I'm sure.

I'm stunned at these attitudes. Over the years I've kept up memberships of several clubs purely because I wanted to support them even though I rarely shot with them - sometimes for years. While a secretary I may have even reported myself for inactivity with that particular club. There was never any problem whatsoever, since I used all my firearms sufficiently often to meet the suggested minimums laid out in the guidelines.
