Reloading 7.62x54r

#1 Post by snayperskaya »

Last Thursday I shot some 180gr Sellier&Bellot through my Dragunov and was impressed with the reduction in group size compared to standard milsurp and it got me thinking about reloading to see how accurate I can get it.I thought of using the Sellier&Bellot brass with some 174gr Sierra Match King bullets.
I know some folks on here reload 54r and would appreciate some pointers regarding powders etc.I have looked on the net and there is a bewildering amount of imformation so not sure whats right or wrong.

I used to load 7.62x54r for my straight pull svds. I used privi brass with the .311 174 grain SMK and 44 grains of viht N140. with home loads the rifle would shoot around 1moa at 100 yds which I was happy with considering the optics and agricultural trigger.
