I've asked for additional 22lr every time I put in a variation and they won't budge, 600/500 even when I had 3 22lr's on my FAC. Stupid thing is I have over 1500 for 308/7.62/.300 and they are quite happy with that!, I also still have authority for 600/500 x .223/5.56 even though I sold the rifle, when my FAC came back from variation they left the ammo on!.

1 for 1 variations used to be around a week (pre Atherton), last year when I needed to change the slot for the .300 Blackout I was buying from bolt action to single shot they told me it would take at least 2 weeks for background checks!. I tried explaining that they'd just granted the slot so the checks had already been done and that the only reason they were having to change it was because they insisted on specifying the action type to start with when it isn't even required.

Sounds like Durham are making it up as they go along!

Avon & Somerset used to try this, and still do to some extent, When I asked for my 3rd or 4th .303 authority I was told I had no valid reason to own it, I simply stated I was a collector, as could be seen by most of what I have in my collection, along with actually shooting them. Was told this wasn't good enough, so I gave the poor sod an earful quoting the relevant guidance which I had in front of me. They have not questioned a variation from me since!

We'll see!
Well what a surprise, my application for a 7x33 ilo of the current permission to acquire a 30AAC Blackout and its' use for hunting is proving to be a problem.
The fact that I have two leased pieces of land and go stalking all over the place with an 'open' certificate seems to be of no avail!
Oh well - onwards and upwards.
