Case damage...
...found this when cleaning some cases that I got with my rifle. Never seen this before, any ideas how it happend?

Case head separation, either head space issues or more likely brass shot many times.

What do you mean by head space issues? I don't believe this case has been shot that many times.

This can happen if the case has been 'bumped' to much - creating the same effect as excessive headspace.

I agree, from what I've seen of the head space issues. The line looks to me like its just at the top of where the heavier bottom section starts to meet the thinner side walls. The other thing to note is that there is no break in the case.
I've just put it into a case holder and pushed the top with a fair amount of force. The case has now split into two parts very cleanly along the line, almost like a fracture. Will take a pic tomorrow.

Has it been fired or is it still shinny on the inside?
I recently bought a load of cases and found one with a deformed neck. I guess deformities are common if you buy enough and the Quality Control is not 100%

It has been fired, but not by me. Previous owner used 125gr Scenars, whereas I'm using 139gr.
