Hydrographics Ltd are located just outside York if you fancy a dipping. It is a unique process - you can have your fibreglass stock made to look like a red cedar one, or your wooden stock look like carbon fibre. Almost anything can be coated - including scopes.

This company do a superb job - nothing leaves if it isn't perfect.

I am struggling to believe that a 'dip' can have durability in the same way that a properly executed Duracoat or Cerakote would?

The dip doesn't, the clear coat on top does. You apply an automotive grade base coat, then the film, then a clear lacquer. If done right it's as good as any spray job.
TRM, there's no machine involved, just a water tank and a few sprays. You'd be hard pressed to make any real profit unless you were very good and doing enough to bring the cost of the film and activator down. I'll be doing at least one of my own rifles when they arrive though :-)

That looks a very impressive process.

Does anyone know how much something like a stock would cost?

I watched it without sound so sorry if this is a stupid question but wouldn't it have to be dried, lacquered then baked?

Not baked no. Depending on the paint and gloss you could probably do it in a couple of hours. If you experimented with different paints you might be able to get it down to an hour so!
I've seen some places charge around £120-150 for a stock. Dip this do a kit for £60ish that should do a few rifle stocks

I've had the odd stock dipped - not in the last five years though - cost about £140 at Hydrographics. If you want metalwork doing (other than a scope) Cerakote would be the best option.
