A couple of new Russian optics

#1 Post by snayperskaya »

These two have arrived in the last week. The top one is a brand new PO3-9x24,made by NPZ in Russia for the Russian military, unlike the civilian POSP range that are made by BeLoMo in Belarus. It is built like a tank and has mil-spec optics with the reticle (which is Illuminated) etched onto the lens. Also has the SVD spec 1000m rangefinder.

The bottom one is an original PSO-1 4x24 which was the standard issue Dragunov scope and it still has a functioning IR detector screen and dates from the early to mid 70s.When this scope was first issued in 1964 it was the worlds most advanced sniper scope and updated versions without the IR detector (which was dropped after most opposing forces stopped using IR night vision equipment) are still very much in use with the Russians today.
I just need to get out to the range and get them both zeroed :)

Yes they are both going to be used on my SVDS.Also received a spare PSO-1 rubber eyepiece and scope cover through the post today so I now have pretty much a complete Russian sniper kit.......just need to make a Ghillie suit out of strips of old uniforms now! tongueout

Would those things fit onto a Mosin Nagant sniper or are they just for the SVD?

Ptheta...yes I think you can get Mosin sidemounts for them

Froggy.....I've seen the Partizan suits, I have got a Spetsnaz one in a pattern called Ryaska (duck weed) and an Afghan era Berezka (Birch tree in Russian) patterned one in the old textured Anti-flash material.I also have a very rare Afghan era Russian Border Guard winter jacket in the Berezka pattern which is complete with the liner and fur collar and has an internal pocket with a lanyard for a Makarov pistol.
