I'm not dismissing it...I really do think web-cams and stuff are a good idea, if you can get it organised...which would be beyond my talents...

...but looking to the future I'm sure that sort of thing would appeal especially to younger shooters...

Died! Not at all Tony, organise something for Bisley, those that want to come will and the other will miss out on what could be a bloody good day out.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

I'm just waiting for my FAC and my mosin, then I'll help setup the northern arm.
It would be a bloody good day at Bisley, but a crappy day getting there and back and you shandy drinkers wouldn't head up here ;-)

Absolutely!

Shooting is the same as other sports, in that if you want to organise an event, you can't wait for everyone to agree on every detail before it goes ahead - You need to sort a date (don't forget that September is at the far end of a long shooting season for many, so they may be up for it, but will wait to see if anything gets organised), and an approximate course of fire, and do it...

...I'm sure a Bisley event would work, which wouldn't take too much organising...and then it would be up to others to oganise the northern 'satellite' events if they wanted to...

OK. I will put forward a course of fire and propose a date.
This will be at Bisley but only because I am 20 minutes away!
I think it will be at 200 and either 500 or 600.
I will put together a proposal.
I was rather hoping folk would say what they would like to do!

From what you've said, it sounds like you already have some good ideas - Personally though, I would decide on the final course of fire once you know how many are coming; so that you'd know how many targets you'll need, which ones will be available on the day you want to do it, and how much time will be available per person per target...
