Collective Bundlebox or similar

#1 Post by Demonic69 »

Has anyone tried this on a forum?
In theory it could be a cost-effective way of getting goods from the states.
If several people all had goods shipped to the bundlebox, then split the cost of shipping to the UK, then paid for shipping to individuals, could this work out cheaper than buying from the UK or sourcing from the US if unavailable over here?

Cheers

no but it sounds an interesting concept however there are various regulations as to what they let you export.

It has potential to get messy when the items are in customs needing payment before they can be released. Dose everyone pay an equal amount or do you try to work out the amount to be paid by individuals. And what happens if they want to see your FAC? Send one in and hope it covers all in the assignment?

All duty would be paid up front based on what you'd spent I'd say, not sure why they'd want your FAC, is that normal as none of the parts would be restricted.

I'm sure Bundlebox calculates VAT and Import Duty and you pay it up front.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

I have had to send a copy of my FAC in the past and that was for something that did not require a FAC. I was tempted to argue the point but in the end it was easier to comply thsn try to fight or educate.

Oh right, didn't know that. I suppose you could could send the most comprehensive FAC, although most should at least give some credence to wanting parts and accessories.
