This is the .450/400 2 3/8” Black powder express in old money. It uses a 230 grain bullet with 80 grains of powder or so inscribed on the barrel of my double.
Where did you see the cases as the Bertram Brass ones available here in the UK are agricultural to put it politely.

Apparently they are RWS cases so should be available from RUAG UK. I also know of a dealer down South that has 200 in stock however he is yet to give me a price.

Re: Anyone here shoot 10,3x60R?
Thanks smile2 It's useful to know that there are some actually in the UK, I've had issues before with dealers who aren't interested in supplying anything slightly unusual. A request once for some 8*56 bullets was a "can't be bothered it's not worth our time" A bit of a pain as they would have been be ideal plinkers for my .318WR....
Re: Anyone here shoot 10,3x60R?
I must admit I was surprised at the lack of interest myself. Bullets for the .318WR are going to be a bit of a problem over here, I only know of Woodleigh these days, they are available but quite pricey.
Is the rifle a WR?

Re: Anyone here shoot 10,3x60R?
Sadly it's not an original WR but a custom new build on a mauser but as it was selling for less than a SMLE it was too good to pass up. I traded in a Brocok slot for it, (if I surrender this highly dangerous section 5 prohibited weapon capable of 6 foot pounds of energy please could I have a rifle instead generating 2922 instead? "ceratinly sir" was the response)
Indeed the Woodleigh's are holy expensive batman, even more than .416" I contacted Graff's in the US for some 8*56 bullets http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/pro ... ctId/12618 a 1000 of them is not much more than 100 Woodleigh's. Time to tell the folks that a parcel is on their way
I did treat myself to 50 rounds of Kynamco during a visit to Westley Richards (well worth it in it's own right) but had to live on beans and pasta for the next month

Re: Anyone here shoot 10,3x60R?
Do you have authority to shoot it here in the UK, I know a couple of people with similar who are not allowed to hold expanding in the UK and are only allowed to 'Transport the rifle to and from a point of embarkation' Even the 9,3x62 is frowned upon by some forces and it is not much more than a 30-06 with something heavy stuffed in the end.
Re: Anyone here shoot 10,3x60R?
I forgot to add, if you ever get the chance to go to Kynamco do so. They have a nice 100m tunnel range with virtually no restrictions and if you ask nicely they might let you watch ammunition being built, they also have an extensive range of brass and bullets for DiY or ammunition built and ready to go.

Re: Anyone here shoot 10,3x60R?
I do indeed shoot it here in the UK along with my .375 H&H and my .416 Rigby albeit with FMJ only. As a member of the ERA we meet at Minsterly and shoot the more esoteric rounds. Of course most of these fall foul of the high energy rifles if you wanted to shoot them on a military range.
Obtaining the .416 was interesting to start with, the usual dogma about it being an anti-tank rifle and we don't like it etc but a quick reminder of the law to those responsible for enforcing it solved the situation. In fact it's good to see the new guidance points out that the calibre is not the concern when granting the FAC it's the suitability of the applicant...
In the twist and turns that is firearms legislation, I can also possess expanding (and armour piercing and incendiary)in any calibre upto 30mm
as part of my "collectors" variation but of course would be committing an offence if I shot any of it.
Sounds like a visit to Kynamco is a good plan

Good to hear you can shoot them.
A cartridge collector eh? Do you have permission to store cartridges both live and inert without having to list them on your FAC? I am a modest cartridge collector and RFD have to record and lock away every single expanding projectile in my possession. I really should speak to my FEO about it.
