No problem for a Dragunov with decent ammo and scope. My SVDS will do 1 moa.
Or how about a Finnish M28/76 if you can find one

Not sure, I don't know much about them to be honest. With regard to Dragunov accuracy I think it helps that over here ours are effectively bolt action, I have read that some Russian snipers in Afghanistan and Chechnya would disable the gas system to increase accuracy

Our plan was to look at converting either a P14 action to 7.62x54R and dropping it in a Joe West stock (hints to ovenpaa) or getting a Moise Magnet and converting that to something like a TKIV85. However, if Dragqueens are cheap...

The straight pull Drags need a lot of effort to get them shooting straight at 800/1000 yards, they have a 26" ish barrel as standard however it is very skinny and soon warms up leading to vertical stringing (According to our illustrious/foreign forum Admin) She could get hers to work however it always seemed to take an excess of concentration and dark mutterings.

Hmmm, seems like a Noise Magnet or P14 action with a long, heavy, stainless barrel might be the way to go and dispense with the need for incantations and the ritual slaughter of chickenskayas...

We looked at a SVT 40 and liked it, however we think we'd rather it be self loading rather than converted to straight pull bolt action. Ultimately it will be a trade off betwixt price and accuracy, thus between a Dragqueen / SVT 40 and a TKIV look alike. We suspect the TKIV might be better in terms of both accuracy and cost.
Anyone going to educate us about FAC section 1 shotties, oomans? We do like the look of that Bora.

Ovenpaa....I believe accuracy is better with the SVDS as despite the barrel being shorter than the SVD the barrel is thicker so reduces barrel whip, the SVDS also has a slightly thicker receiver which also helps with accuracy.
