Any Manufacturers on Here?
I know we've got some innovators on here, and some fantastic products too. I'm not sure what their capacities are for manufacturing though.
I've got an idea for a shooting/tacticool product but don't have the time to look into getting it produced. It may be patent-able but I'm not sure, it would be copied by the Chinese about 20 seconds after release I am sure!
It would most likely be plastic though metal would be really cool.
So I was just wondering if anyone on here has experience with getting a product made and to market?

Interesting, I'm in exactly the same boat. I've got myself a CAD program to mock up a drawing and have just found a UK based 3d printing agence to print it for me for a great price. When I'm happy with the outcome I'll get it drawn up properly snd made up somewhere.
Re: Any Manufacturers on Here?
We build everything from cleaning rod guides, through bipods to rifle chassis systems if that is of any help.
Re: Any Manufacturers on Here?
It may be Ovenpaa, it's not quite as Premium as most of your work though
If I knock up a CAD design would you like to take a look?

I'd 3D print it for you, all I need is an extra 12 hours per day to finally get some time to finish assembling either of the 2 3D printers I currently have sat waiting for electronics!majordisorder wrote:Interesting, I'm in exactly the same boat. I think I'll make it my NY resolution to get one up and running

Do you need it printing in metal, oomans?
Oh, and afore you tells anybody (or anybadger) about it, check out the patent angle first if that matters to you: once you have made a disclosure and placed something in the patent domain it becomes extremely difficult to patent.

I've got 2/3 more "inventions" I'd love to patent but can't really afford to pay for the thousands of pounds worth of bull$#!t legalese to make sure they're written in such a way that they are enforceable.
While our patent system is better than most it's still been allowed to be taken over by "Patent Solicitors" who're solely about creaming as much money out of the application, defence and investigation of patents, something that should have been left to plain English and common sense.
But I'm not bitter.....

Re: Any Manufacturers on Here?
Worst thing is if you actually get something patented, it only takes one tiny little change and any lawyer fresh out of school can prove with ease it is not your design.
We have looked into this and decided it was not worth it, too much money, too much chance of it being made by someone else with a slight change.
They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Oh, another thing, the patent office we contacted, because they already represent one of the big shooting companies in the world, we were told after having explained our idea that they would go no further because there would be a conflict of interest.
So be careful who you speak to and what you say.

Yes of course, 2D or 3D are both fine, I prefer Solidworks but anything is good, even biro on an envelope!. Email me.Demonic69 wrote:It may be Ovenpaa, it's not quite as Premium as most of your work though
