Just had a thought ! ( happens fairly rarely so though I'd better act on it )I've got some once fired Milsurp 223 ( boxer primed) and neck sized 'em coz they came out of the AR, cleaned in JD Tumbler and then trimmed. All ok so far, but, when trying to prime using small rifle primers and Lee hand prime ( with small rod fitted and no 4 shell holder) the pesky little primers seem to prefer going in on the scud, sideways or any other non regulation direction.
The cases seem to have what looks like an insert in the primer pocket ( it may just be my eyes though).
Any thoughts please before I give up and bin what seemed to be perfectly good brass
Got any pictures of the primer pocket? The reason I ask because if it's milsurp brass the primers could be catching on the primer crimp. Just my initial thoughts.

I'm assuming you mean RUAG and not ROAG. This milsurp brass has a primer pocket crimp that needs to be removed to allow the easy seating of primers. The best way to remove the crimp is with a Dillon Super Swage although there are other tools out there that will also do the job including cutters that remove the crimp.

I can't find the cord to download photos from phone but the cases are stamped RORG and don't have any staking round the pocket ( unlike for example some of the HXP 303 brass)
I'll get my spare cable from work tomorrow and post a couple of photos.
Its not the priming tool cos this works excellently "normal" Remington brass.

Royal Ordnance Radway Green, I've used a cheap lee chamfering tool to good effect. Bit sore on the fingers though.
If it's Radway Green then you will need to de-crimp, I have a load of it here in 5.56 and had to sort out the crimp before priming. Not bad stuff though as it's lasted for quite a while and through a fair few reloads.
