Can anyone identify this please
It comes in a nice wooden box, weighs 5+Kgs and caught my eye, apologies for the poor iFone images.

Is it something to do with these people, maybe a nav calibrator or nav aid

The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.
Re: Can anyone identify this please
Pure Guess but is it some form of gun laying computer for an artillery battery?
The company name actually rings a small bell right at the back of my mind and it's telling me that the company used to produce electrical fuses for aircraft bombs and mines. However I am probably totally wrong and imagining it, and it’s really got quite an innocent engineering purpose.

Could well be a ranging computer for artillery, pure guess, but looking at the instruction plaque on the second pic, seems to point to this.

According to the fuze numbers mentioned seems to be a calculator for setting the fuze delay for a 3.7" AA Gun.
This link for a fuze 199 mentions a machine for automatically setting the fuze delay.

It was for sale for GBP40 from memory and was in what looks like close to unused condition. The bit that caught my attention is the the box appears to have been made from walnut.

Blowing up the photos (no pun) shows reference to bearing and elevation and fuzes, so could be a setting for fuzes on AA shells?

Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!
