Guns Review

#1 Post by dromia »

Who remembers this Classic British gun and shooting comic.

In my opinion it was the best gun periodical ever produced anywhere, nothing else has come close to its quality and depth of articles along with its strong editorial integrity.

Not so picture rich as the new gun rags in the digital age but the words did the job then.

I'm so glad I kept all my copies, they are still my favourite read.

God yes it was brilliant. Didn't have too much money...it was the year I qualified CIMA...the year my life changed for the better. Had kids to get educated. Couldn't afford to buy much...did get my Colt Govt G70 Mk4 thru the post for £186. And later a S&W model 28 Highway Patrolman.

Big Sighhhh!

I used to have a 70 Gold Cup. That pistol was incapable of hitting lower than the nine ring even with me on the end, I loved that pistol almost as much as my Webleys.

Getting angry now, might have to go and pop some Sect 7.3 tonight.

Never missed a copy. Excellent read, especially liked Colin Greenwood's articles on gun control

If memory serves me, forced to hand in his Mini14 after Hungerford, he stuffed a 223 case with something like Bullseye and deliberately destroyed the Rifle.

Got to disagree, the most boring gun mag on the shelf! In the 80's I would skip Guns Review in favour of either Handgunner, the UK mag, and Guns and Ammo, which I still read now!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!
