Collecting brass and bullets.

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

I am certainly not a serious collector of brass or bullets however I do have a few that do not really fit into any category or were used for testing the 2P comparators and bump gauges or have been built for reference, range pick-ups and unusual things I have shot or been given. The problem as ever is where to put things. Mine sit in printers case on a wall.

Does anyone do similar?

Yes,but my collection isn't anywhere near as extensive.

There are several duplicates in the case, some have been used for different purposes or may have an odd head stamp which warrants them going in the case.

Same here - I'm always on the look out for unusual bits and pieces.

That's great for displaying cases and such - I'd love something like that, but unfortunately where I'm living at the moment the walls in my office slope in from 90 cm up....

...so have my very modest collection just standing on a low book case:

...must do some dusting

Bnz - that's exactly what they are...not collectible (like the .303 training rounds next to them) but I stand them with my meager collection anyway...

...what I'm really after, in respect to clips, is a full (all inert obviously) M1 Garand clip.

My son collects them and has quite a collection, I think the thing that annoys him the most is cleaning them with brass cleaner !

For a couple of decades before getting into shooting I collected stripper/charger clips withe the correct inert rounds. Best display opportunity I can offer them is a plastic toolbox under the spare bed. 1885 Mannlicher or RSC M1917 anyone?
