Mosin Help - M44 Dimensions

#1 Post by Demonic69 »

Hi Everyone

I'm just planning something in CAD and have a reasonable mock-up of a Mosin action from t'web but they didn't really bother with scale as far as I can see. I was wondering if someone with a Mosin, M44 ideally but any round action should be OK, could taker a few measurements for me so I can scale this thing correctly.
Ideally the diameter of the cocking knob, diameter of the whole action and the length the bolt protrudes from the rear when cocking. The length-of-pull for an M44 would be great also.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Dean

...are the dimensions you want, with or without the folding bayonet attached?

It could make all the difference to the drawings being legal or not.

I'll be using an m38 or 44 without a bayonet most likely, wouldn't want the Scots to think I might invade

Ovenpaa, your dropbox did get to me, I've been sorting out my one. I have just sent you a link to the folder on my Dropbox.
I couldn't figure out how to drop the files into your dropbox, so I set my own.

The drawings I have are from various sources some are the original drawing from 1981, but those are the bolt only, the receiver drawings are from Poland, the magazine is from Russia, and the Finnish stuff I've got is from 1936 plus some of the drawings for the Tkiv85.
