Litz - Accuracy and Precision for Long Range Shooting

Yup...those three calibres in the main.

It contains 3 sections on Precision, Accuracy & Weapon Employment Zone analysis.

Precision covers uncertainty of Wind, Range & Inherent Precision played against shooters of varying degrees of skill and weather conditions...then shows all sorts of statistical analyses re hit percentages.

Accuracy covers Basics, Leveling sights, Trajectory modelling, calibrating ballistic solutions etc

WEZ (weapons employment zone) analysis....model-based, statistical analysis related to hit percentages on specific (military figure) targets as a function of range for the calibres above....have to admit that I lost the will to live at this point!

Honestly I am a major fan of BL and his first book but this one was not for me......as I said though it might be the holy grail for another so its just my view / needs reflected here.

Well I have the book. My initial reaction was flip, this is heavy going so I cherry pick the bits that interested me from there I moved to the start of the book and started reading it properly. My view now is it is a bit lightweight content wise and has left me with a host of unanswered questions and ponderings.

Deep down I rate it slightly below the Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting even though it covers the technical side of things in more depth and I think this might be the problem for many readers, Litz established a bench mark in style and content with his early articles and first book and it is going to be hard to equal it. For me it was style as much as anything.

As per original comments...I find myself going back time and again to his first book but this one stays shut...the style is too convoluted for my needs.

Dave, I am glad it is not just me and I did take your comments on board before asking for it. If I didn't know better I would say he was not the only contributor to the book.
