Hawke scopes, are they any good?
Just shopping around for a scope, and I've been having a look at Hawke optics.
Anyone have any experience of them?

Re: Hawke scopes, are they any good?
I've used them on Airguns for years without issues. Recently put a 3-9x40 on my 10/22 and the left side of the crosshair broke after 500 or so rounds. It's held zero to be fair but will be going in the bin.
Re: Hawke scopes, are they any good?
I had one on my 15-22, a 1.25-4.5, was a lovely scope but I wanted an MOA reticle so upgraded to a Vortex PST.
I'd have kept it, but had nothing to put it on! For the money they are pretty good. I'd have another.

Re: Hawke scopes, are they any good?
I used a Hawke Endurance 1-4.5 X 20mm on my .223 when I first started out. The Endurance range is robust and the glass clear. It held it's zero and for the money I think they are good value.
However, like most things I've bought to do with shooting, I upgraded to a Leopold and now wish I spent the extra few hundred quid at the start. The Hawke is now in my loft in the bits box gathering dust.

I'd happily help you clear some space if you need ;-)ulaughingatmymule wrote:The Hawke is now in my loft in the bits box gathering dust.
I was just looking at these scopes too, the majority seem to agree that they're good for the money but don't compare with the higher end scopes, but that's the same with everything, you get what you pay for.
I'll probably still go for one, I could never justify the cost of a leupold et al unless I was seriously competing
Re: Hawke scopes, are they any good?
Have a look at optisan viper they are a good budget scope
Re: Hawke scopes, are they any good?
Cheers fella's,
Seem's like a mixed bag, some good, some bad.
The other scopes I was looking at are Bushnells Elite, my preference would be for Leupold, but I can't afford the Leupold Mk4 that want. so I have to go for some cheaper but similar.
The idea was get a cheap scope until I've git enough pennies to get a Leupold Mk4.
But I'll certainly have a look at the other suggestions
Cheers

Oooh, that Vortex PST looks nice
, I've not really looked at them before.
Price looks not too bad either.

you get what you pay for true and the other question is also to buy/pay for what you need ...
