Did a couple of quick calculations which assume a 20mm has a 4000 fps or 1035 m/s muzzle velocity and that there is no air resistance - there will be in practice but the projectile is fairly streamlined so it will not slow rapidly.

At an angle of 10 degrees it could travel around 18.5km. Taking an angle of 5 degrees the distance would be 9.5 km.

In the best/worst case at 45 degrees a projectile could actually travel 54km - in practice a lot less.
