If you buy a replica then you'll need to be able to avail yourself of a 'defence' against the VCRA e.g. be a skirmisher/re-enactor. Easier going the deac route.

Re Open days: These usually take place twice a year, in spring and autumn. You get the opportunity to try a wide range of firearms, including "cowboy" revolvers and rifles.

Haven't the NRA stopped MLP's at the open day? I understand they weren't out / available on the last one.
