So i could replace the Mosin Nagant with a Dragunov with no problem regarding the action?.Also with a 7.62/.308 i take it that refers to the calibre as opposed to any reference to case length?.....if thats the case bye bye Enfield hello SVT-40! ;) (sorry if this question sounds a bit stupid)

If its a one for one just put down what you FLO wants to call it, Bolt Action off, Staight Pull on.

Durham make you specify exact calibre & chambering as well as action type but class a straight pull as a bolt action.

That said, when I asked for my 300aac Blackout slots they said it wasn't on the NFLMS so couldn't put it on, I said just put 30 cal but they insisted they couldn't do that, instead they found the nearest thing which was "300 calibre" which I suppose means I could get anything in .300 including 300 Win Mag!. I spoke to Wayne at NorthWest Custom parts about it when I was ordering my Handi Rifle, he said Manchester have no problem putting it on tickets, maybe they are sensible and just put 30cal?.

My two "straight-pulls" with Police Scotland are down as Bolt-Action rifles. On the application it was wanted to purchase/acquire one 7.62/.308win rifle and one .5.56mm/.223 Rem rifle; I did not specify action type as it's not normally necessary to do so.

Kent don't require action type, my .223 straight pull is down as a .223 rifle.

I had two 7.62/.308 slots and bought a mosin nagant sniper rifle (7.62x54r) and a straight pull AKM (7.62x39), had no questions about specific calibre or the action, if the seller is willing to sell to you then I can't see a problem, if the force say you have to specify the action then so be it.

On mine (Norfolk Police) both my 30 carbine and my .223 are both listed as:
Type: Rifle
Action: Straight Pull
