Don't keep it to yourself. We as a community of like minded enthusiasts need to stand up for what we feel is right.

Well at least it got the article out to the members of our club, most of whom probably don't get onto any forums/chat rooms. It also got a few positive comments from folk who look at my farce book page ( no I don't have 1000's of "friends" just folk who I actually know and for various reasons don't get to see/speak to very often ).
I do agree with Dromia in as much as there are some folk who post such as " got up and had a cup of tea " or " just cut my toenails" and you have to wonder why ?? but live and let live.

I will keep on posting stuff that I think needs to be spread out to a wider audience in the hope that maybe it may help. The alternative is to curl up and accept a negative outcome.

Rant over, off to see about the EU olive mountain and the humous swamp mmmmm……

Just a slight correction there, not all people use it.

No-one in my circle of close friends and relatives use it or subscribe to it, I don't doubt that large swathes of the populace use it but it by no means universal.

Also I am not against those that want to putting the message over on such mechanisms good luck to them/you, my point is that reasoned argument is beyond most peoples intellect and thus is lost on most users of such media.

Anything that supports shooting is good in my book. I just think that some of you have more faith in the populaces ability to think rather than be told what to think than my experience shows me. That I am afraid gives us all problems way beyond the fire arms licensing issue.

Not if we put ourselves out there and actively tell people that shooting is a good thing and to be encouraged...

Myself and many others have been doing that a lot longer than you have laddie, fighting for shooters rights is not something that has just come along with you getting into shooting or with the advent of arsebook.

It is an upward struggle but not one to be given up on if we value our shooting and if your digital efforts make the difference then that would be what we all want.

500 Million people actively use Twitter. Half a billion. 200 Million daily users.

UK users: 12 Million. Twelve Million. A fifth of the population.

How can you say that when you don't use it?

Subscribing to people's content was mentioned earlier. That's a barrier on its own; especially on Facebook but with Twitter you can search for the misinformed using keyphrases (e.g. "guns should be banned") and at least put your POV across to them. They can then block you of course but by then you've sown the seed in their mind.

I introduced another two people to shooting in the last 24hrs alone. How many did you? I could have written them a letter I suppose but how would I know?...
