Dromia and i were at our clubs range day at Catterick today, and as we both had our Carcano's i thought i would take the opportunity of some snaps.

Both are in 6.5X52 calibre, Dromia's being the longer 91/38 Fucile Corto from the Terni Arsenal and mine being the short 91/28 Truppe Speciali, with the gain twist rifling, manufactured at the Gardone Arsenal.






My T.S. has the better quadrant sights but it was a good foot high at 100m, the 91/38 has the fixed battle sight.





Forend and bayonet bar differences.










The 91/38 has a butt trap for the cleaning rod.



Both brass and steel chargers.

Good looking rifles and great pictures as well, did you have to lug the Sius Ascor's around or were they already setup? It was always a pain having to move them out from 100m, especially with a couple of rifles, mat, ammunition etc.

Is that a wrist repair on your rifle and if so can you post another picture of it one day? I am always fascinated by the wood working skills of the armourers.

At 6c we just sit at the 300 yrd point and set targets at 1,2 and 300 yrds.

No humping 'till you want to go beyond 300 which we don't do at 6c.

Beautiful guns, both of them. Love the lines from the butt to the magasine incl the metail work.

6.5 would have thought would be a pretty accurate round? depending on the rifle obviously, but even so.

Heh! That threw Christel into crisis mode wondering how a guest could post, turns out this was the only forum that the permissions had not been completely set. Fixed now.

That is a very neat repair Jo, over the years I have had my hands on some of the most appalling treated service rifles known to man yet the armourers work is always neat and well presented, be it German, Russian, British whatever I seldom see a bad job.
