Shame about the distance but I would have thought with the short barrel around 300yds would have been about it.
It looks like it would be great fun to shoot but it might be limited for me. I shoot 300,500 and 600 so would like it to at least cover all distances.

Ordinarily, there would be no reason why it wouldn't be good to 600m with surplus ammo and it's 19 inch barrel -however - the sights are designed for out to 400m only.MartinS wrote:Shame about the distance but I would have thought with the short barrel around 300yds would have been about it.

He shoots it at 200 meters only because that is the distance of this specific discipline/competition.
The barell is fairly shortish but no reason not to use it well beyond 200 meters ?
I am shooting pistol in France this week-end. So if you want and if he is there, I will ask if he shot it at longer distances and with what sort of results he gets out of his Fr8 ?

Hello all
After looking at the FR8 and pondering over it I decided that it wouldn't be suitable for the distances I shoot. Also the factor of money came into it and I really didn't want to give the Musgrave away for peanuts which was offered.
The FR8 is a cracking little rifle by the way!
So now I've sold my shooting jacket and sling, I thought about recycling the old Musgrave by putting the old sight rail and scope back on it. Which was new at the time and buy a Harris style adaptor so I can use my very nice bipod David made for me on it. While doing that I thought sod it I'll refinish the stock in a dark stain! Being a Target riffle with a 30" barrel and maybe a little near to the end of its life I know it will still shoot better than a short barrel.
It will be a job done in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If it lasts me next season I'm a happy boy and it's cost me £12!
