That does seem excessive for 6 small nylon brushes. I had a package delivered on Thursday by DHL, the distance it travelled was just over 1500 miles, the weight was 20lbs, and the cost of shipping was $6.99. I had the package in four days from the time it was shipped. Given the time these brushes would take to arrive it sounds like the sender if they actually do take it to the post office, waits until they have a pile of stuff to send out before shipping. Also we don't know for sure how far they have to travel to the PO if they do, but even if it was a 30 mile round trip, well it sounds like the buyers are paying for the petrol and some.

Personally I won't do business with any company that charges way over the top shipping. I emailed a company at the beginning of the year asking why the where charging $9 for a piece of plastic that weighed under an ounce when the cost of post would be not more than a first class stamp which is around 50 cents. They never replied but I sure as hell sent them a second email letting them know I was disappointed with the lack of reply and assured them they would never ever see any of my cash. Another couple of things I hate is the so called "handling charge" and companies that charge a "handling charge" for any order under a certain amount. Midway USA started doing it a couple of years back for order under $25. I sent an email to the CEO Larry Potterfield and told him I was done with his company after they put this in place and that in the future I would be doing business with his largest competitors.
