A pleasent couple of hours
I have just spent a hour or two sat at my computer desk re loading cast 7.62x39 to shoot on a 25 yard indoor range using a RCBS powder measure mounted on a home made stand so it will sit on my desk. A hornady scale to check weigh every tenth charge. A hand held Lee priming tool(I need to get rid of this and find something better) A Lyman M die mounted in a Lee hand press one of there better tools. A arbor press and Le Wilson neck sizing die and a Le Wilson micro adjustable seating die and I never had to move from my PC desk. Cool or what hand crafted ammo sat in comfort browsing the web with sarnies and cups of coffee to snack with. It don't get better than this. To morrow night its .308 for a shoot on Saturday.
Re: A pleasent couple of hours
I'm doing all my cast bullet loading on the Lee hand press at the moment as I have had a snake living on my loading bench for the last month or so!

I must lead too hectic a life, ran 50 rounds of sub-sonic 300 Blackout through the progressive in less than 5mins while having a cuppa yesterday morning smile2

I don't do progressive. I am not in that much of a hurry. I am in to hand crafted ammo what's the rush.I must lead too hectic a life, ran 50 rounds of sub-sonic 300 Blackout through the progressive in less than 5mins while having a cuppa yesterday morning

Re: A pleasent couple of hours
No rush, but for 25m plinking ammo it's fine, my 44 mag 308 & 300 Blackout sub-sonics still shoot sub 1" groups using cast boolits. For the 308 and 300 outdoor target I use a single stage.

Re: A pleasent couple of hours
I hand craft ammo on my progressive. It shoots as well as I ever made it on a single-stage (last time out was a 14mm group at 300m - a fraction over 1/2"). I am in a bit of a rush though, since I get through quite a bit of ammo and don't have much time to make it. But speed is the very lowest thing on the list of criteria.Alpha1 wrote:I don't do progressive. I am not in that much of a hurry. I am in to hand crafted ammo what's the rush.

I must admit my cave is function over comfort.
Took me about the same to do 36 .308 (for F/TR), albeit they were 3 different bullets and I had to weigh out and bearing surface check 12.
Still, time taken shows down range if I get the triggery bit right...ah...one day
