Scotland - Is the end in sight?

#1 Post by Dangermouse »

Not wanting to hi jack another thread regards Sec 1 shotguns in Scotland.

I am sure that many of us have noticed over the years a number of attempts to get air rifles banned in Scotland. It appears someone there does not like them / shooting.

We are now 12 months away from the vote on Independence, I wonder what would be the out come for shooters if Scotland does gain it's independence.

I am sure some Will say that the Hunting industry is too important an economy for Scotland to lose, but when I look at how easily Labour banned hunting with horse and hounds and all the jobs that were lost in that, I don't think it will hold much sway.

Perhaps something to consider asking,

Question HAS BEEN asked

While one branch of the SNP are making the correct noises about shooting sports pre-Commonwealth Games, the Golden Pheasants of the SNP leaders have made no bones about wanting a total ban on firearms - with one or two minor exemptions for vets/slaughter-men & professional estate managers, etc.

Shooting as a SPORT will be banned

I have that in writing from Alex Salmond, back in 1996/97 during the campaign to avoid a handgun ban. SNP want a total ban...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

The only way to shoot in(to) Scotland is by manning one of the guard towers when The Wall goes back up :run:
