Oh we can get 100 rounds of nice Russian ammunition in its ikkle sealed packets for the same price as your 70 rounds of paw loads. Even full price, 100 rounds of 7.62x54R can be had for around £25 / 100 from many dealers.
Well that (and the fact that I'd 'under-guessed' the cost of my own ammunition) kind of blows my argument out the water...

So, oomans, what barrel length would you recommend for this project? We're thinking of a heavy stainless Lothat Walther barrel married to a Mosin Nagant action, possibly a Tula.
