SGC 9mm - Catastorphic Failure - Almost lost an eye :(

Oh dear, looks like Bob has some public relations damage to repair! New SGC advert in Gunmart (I know you can't believe what you read in that mag Adam) states .45ACP and .223 coming soon!
I know the issues, but .223 really does appeal, I wonder if its delayed blowback, .223 seems a little hot for blowback!!
I wonder if its gas operated in .223?

I think you missed this thread on the "super unicorn", it's gas operated not delayed blowback, £5K.

£5K.....Holy crap!!! Thats a sweet looking rifle though, now who wants to buy a Kidney!
I have to say, proper locking rotary bolt head, got to be a safer bet!!

As dan said gas op, looked at it at show gas parts run down side not top. Then lock back leaver release for next round. 5k kidney & bit of liver.

it won't cost £5k, there was talk of the .45acp being £3k yet the true price is £1700.
I'm looking forward to this coming out got a .223 slot ready

Have you paid the deposit ? I think most of the first batch are pre-sold so you better be quick.paxtond wrote:it won't cost £5k, there was talk of the .45acp being £3k yet the true price is £1700.

Long but interesting thread. IMO the crux of whether the OP is likely to be successful within a small claims court, hinges on whether a copy of the manual (and warranty exclusion) was included with the rifle. Was this the case?
I don't recall the correct legal terminology, however there is a care of duty to make critical information obvious. For instance, a "Wet floor" sign should not be hung from the ceiling. Failure to do so, leaves the [manufacturer|VAR] exposed to legal recourse. I would suggest it's law that any information relating to the safety of the person using the rifle, MUST be included in the packaging.
Whatever happens, I'm glad you weren't hurt.
BTW - What happened to the original photos? I've read 35 pages, but I haven't seen the rifle!

Halodin,
That is an interesting theory regards being given a manual with the product. In this electronic age and one where companies are looking to save the planet / reduce costs, it is becoming more common to purchase items and find the user instructions are on the manufacturers web sites.
I know the instructions for the LR9mm are on the internet,

Halodin, thanks for the input. Luckily neither of us were hurt, both rifles failed with exactly the same resultant damage.

Thinking further ahead, I would love a 7.62mm "lever release" AR platform...... .223 is for pansies!
