Moderator on a FAC shotgun

#1 Post by CDM5 »

I'm considering a getting an .410 lever action Marlin for vermin shooting.

Seen this detachable .410 Hushpower moderator http://www.saddleryandgunroom.co.uk/Gun ... hpower.htm. Would this need to be entered on my FAC as another slot?

Unsure one how moderated shotguns are classified.

Thanks

Not sure on that one but I'd err on the side of caution & say yes, same as any other section 1 firearm on your FAC.

I'm thinking about a 410 LA as well - have you had your hands on the Marlin 410? If so, what did you think of it?

Nope, just heard good things about them from a friend in the US who has a good L/A collection.

I'm undecided between the Marlin and the Rossi (or a Win 9410 if I found one) - and just wanted some first hand feedback on it.

If you get your hands on any or all of them, I'd be interested in your views. :good:

Section 2 - not a problem with adding a moderator

Section 1 - any removable moderator WILL need to be a separate item on your FAC...the way around that would to have the moderator permanently pinned in place
