Weird No4

#1 Post by JS569 »

Found this on facebook, I'm usually the first to shy away from hacked up Enfields but as this guys description says it's a parts gun using what was salvagable from the knackered barrel. His description is below.

My F S enfield , made from spare parts , the barrel had to much rust and pitting, i could only save 8'' of it..., its fun to shoot single handed and in the shoulder,.. not much recoil ,.. i been shooting cast bullets so cases are not fully charged,..shes a good little bush gun.

To be fair he has made a good job of it and I bet it's a good laugh to shoot! I guess with some full loads in it, it will buck a little bit!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

It is amazing how if you get enough bits in a box and give it a good shake how some of them stick together. :o

I like it and it looks quite handy as well, I should imagine it is a hoot to shoot at 25m. Did he say what the folding butt section came off?

It is certainly similar to an MP40 but with some subtle differences.

Hmm...

Sadly it would need a minimum of 12" barrel and fixed rear butt section or at least 12" of it fixed to not stray into the realms of S5. It is a very doable project all the same.
