So says Labour (what a surprise) MP Chris Williamson, Derby North.

No comments as yet... but I'm sure we can put the controlling little fascist in his place.

This quote surprised me, it means more than 4 women are killed by legally owned firearms every year.
of the 43 female gun deaths in the last five years, at least half of the weapons used were legally owned.

Can't be sure that is the case. It could be that some of them were killed by the same legally held firearm as part of a single incident, and that in some years no women die from legally owned firearms.

...also what is a 'gun death' does that include cases of suicide?

If memory serves, this nobber came in for a shed load of criticism concerning "gun law", or his version of it, a few months ago.....

Looks like he needs another roasting.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

According to the pdf attached - found here http://www.parliament.uk/briefing-papers/Sn04304 (p12 table2) for the period 2000 - 2011 there where 96 homicides involving firearms where the victim was female - compared to 499 who were strangled and 750 killed with a sharp instrument.

A good roasting requires research:

He's a member of League Against Cruel Sports....says it all....Strangely this isn't on the register of members' interests which suggests he is abusing his front bench postion to push a personal agenda.....

In favour of the The Snoopers' Charter....

So we should ban strangulation and sharp objects, right?!

The guy is a freaking moron.

Banning overly sharp nails would do the job for half the price.... :good:

Quote from his blog:

"I think there will always be an animal rights activist lurking within me, perhaps borne from the time I spent fiercely opposing animal cruelty during my late teens and early 20s.
I used to be an active member Hunt Saboteurs back then. I feel the need to defend animals just as strongly now..."

Makes me wonder if there might be pople out there who have grown up and would be willing to come clean on any illegal activity during that period..... Not to suggest that he was necessarily involved.

Given that he was involved in marginal activity we should know every email he has every written, every tweet ever made etc etc..... Oh no hang on, it's only him that's allowed to do that with his snoopers charter....

This man is truly appalling. He admits being linked to shady activity in the past and now wants to spy on everything we do in case we don't agree with him....
