I realize that this should probably be in the photos/video section but I felt this section was more appropriate seeing as it concerns an invasive/released predator, so I hope the Mods will forgive me.
This rather large fella is a Reticulated Python, native to Asia , but I suspect it was probably someone's pet that they let go in the swamps to fend for itself when it became too big and dangerous for them to handle which is a great shame for the python. This python was taken in Florida by a couple of fella's out hunting in the Everglades. Check out the contents of it's stomach :roll:

Hi Blu that looks more like a Burmese python that a retic.
Reticulated pythons get longer than the Burms but the Burms gets a lot heavier in the body.
Both spices can get large 18+ feet is not uncommon for females.
And yes they are common in the pet trade just check out prehistoric-pets you tube page to see some cool videos also cheack out snakebitestv to see the modern reptile trade at work from scale less corn snakes all the way to the latest ball/royal python morphs they also get bit allot which is fun to watch.
This one looks like a common phase Burm there are now many color morphs bread in all snake and lizard spices.

Hi honsu, hey you could well be right mate. What I know about pythons wouldn't fill the back of a postage stamp, however the news article said that the Florida State Biologist reckoned it's Reticulated Python and who am I to argue with them.
