This is where the K98 came from. Paul does super jobs on his rifles and is a really nice bloke to do business with, can't recommend him enough.

I had my (russian capture)K98 1935 S42/G out on Stanta Great Carr ETR on thurs, its great fun to shoot with yugo 55 (corrosive primers) surplus@ £29/90rnds.
I was hitting fig.11's out to 300, but the sight picture is awful, anything further is obscured by the front sight width and the rear sight is just a "V" notch.
I'd only paid £400 for the RC in good condition, but to scope it of the period is not going to be cheap, thats why I bought a Remy.308 VLS for longer distance.
But I do like my "mouser".

600yards is pushing it for me using iron sights hence getting it scoped!

The markings on the metal are beautiful, as to the wood, who is to say at some point the stock was not damaged in action and then replaced with the rifle being reissued. Yours would be a very desirable rifle in this part of the world.

Oh yes it has been damn hot, we have seen 118 Fahrenheit for a week at a time not sure of the Celsius conversion. What is 118 like its fracken hot that's what it's like, makes 100 seem pleasant, though it is the desert so we try not to complain and except what nature sends us, winters are not too bad.
