re- 7.62,

Cant speak about the Fiocchi 223R/5.56 but the P226 in my kit lives on a exclusive diet of 9mm Fiocchi 115grs . It is a "punchy" 9mm round and I can't remember ever having an incident. Fiocchi as a brand gets my vote.

Seems ok by the reviews I've read overnight. I'll pick some up, given there's not much choice here!

Fiocchi ammo ,as far as I am aware, uses Viht powder and their rifle match ammo uses Sierra matchings.

In the end I nabbed some S&B which was all they had left. *Looks* ok but you can never tell of course...

It's probably not a bad idea that, I assume economies of scale also kick in when you start talking larger quantities. If anyone in my area is keen on clubbing together, I might be interested in doing a bulk order

I have a small amount of RG left, but I expect supply of that to dry up soon. Simply Firearms & Ammo has some in stock:

I have some GGG 62gr and some FNM 55gr which I got from Suffolk Rifle Company but I doubt he has any stock now.

Went to the Gunshop in East Barnet and purchased 100 63gr GECO for £58 last week.

HPS apparently sell 55gr Barnaul which is super cheap but nowhere as bad as some say.

Just to go back to GGG, apparently they got a big government contract so they are behind servicing civilian contracts. Then again Bisley probably has more clout in such matters.

Now that Herrick is drawing to a close - might we see availability of surplus ammo on the increase again?

As Radway Green have decided not to supply to the civilian market anymore then I don't think the Herrick draw down will make much difference with them. RG is drying up in the market and it will become increasingly rare to source ****

On the other hand NATO draw down from Afghanistan might mean other manufacturers and military putting more surplus on the market. So you never know some interesting stuff might well come up, frankly it would be nice to get some of the brands that Americans get but considering the recent panic I doubt we will see much of that.
