Scout regiment scope

#1 Post by Gaz »

Visiting the other half's family and came across this little gem...

Tele sct. regts mk 2
H.c.r. & son ltd
os 126 ga
no.21265
(broad arrow)

On the eyepiece is stamped:

O.s.1616.s.a

I shall get photos up when I'm nearer home again. Can anyone tell us what it is? Obviously a British ordnance issue scope of some sort. it has the original carry case too, in leather.

It was part of the issued kit with the No.4T sniper rifle in the fitted chest along with a compass ,binoculars the scope No32 and it's tin and a sniper veil. These scopes in good condition have brought over £500 at auction.

I've sold three in the last four years, currently fetching sub £300, about ten years ago you could get £500 for mint examples.

IIRC, HCR is H.C. Ryland & son

I have a few of these, as well as the other issue telescopes

My advice, keep it, use it & enjoy it
