Not sure WHAT ELSE can be said over the S.1 s/g & LBP/LBR issue...or WHAT the question is?
As stands they don't have an exemption under Home Office/Firearms Act legislation....much in the same way that the .17 rimfires are only legal in a non-semi-auto rifle, as the exemption to the ban was specifically worded as ".22 rim-fire"
Local FEO's cannot act above the laws in the Firearms Acts & re-interpret them to suit their own needs...though we all know some that do, or try to!
Asking them to do so may be asking for more trouble than the issue is worth

Sometimes the only way a piece of legislation can be clarified, is in a court...
Which generally means an individual is charged with a specific offence in which the disputed legislation is either the cause or defence of the charge. Deep pockets or cajounes of steel are required if one wishes to test it!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Not being nasty to the chap - just I'm going on the assumption that his user name is tied to his hair colour - so he'd not be a great loss & in the terrible even that he was found guilty then at least he'd be safe if he dropped the soap any time during his 5 year sojourn... tongueout

Well Saddler, I am not sure if the promotion of 'Hate Crimes' on the forum is a good thing for the forum or your licensesaddler wrote:Can we not volunteer Ginger?Sim G wrote:Sometimes the only way a piece of legislation can be clarified, is in a court...

If you had read my previous posts, my local police force / licensing are allowing LBR's on club tickets for the members and others have said that isn't possible, (it is I have seen the ticket), so I was asking for formal clarification from IainWR in his role as NRA Firearms Liaison officer for the benefit of all club members out there. IainWR has committed to looking into it and to speak to Surrey Police and the HO but at the moment is going through his inbox after time off.
Re: Handling of Sect 1 Shotguns.
I used to shoot at a South Wales club that had a SPAS12 on th eclub ticket.
Any member could shoot it if they wanted - bit of fun but seriously rattlely.

Re: Handling of Sect 1 Shotguns.
FEO has just been round and I had asked him for opinion on this matter. He advised that the Police Firearms Guidance books states that clubs can allow individuals to use "firearms" under Sect 15(1) but when they cross refernced that with the legislation, they found the contradiction as the Act states "rifles"
He is to discuss with Head of Licensing for Police Scotland today for an opinion.
