Powder is 3 months old and dry stored inside the house. Checked the seal just now and it is tight; don;t guess i wouldn't have done the same last time.... All light strikes fired just a delay from click to boom. I did NOT check that there was any lube in the neck but certainaly no powder was "stuck" in the neck at all. None of the cases were sooty. The new ammo is about 6 month sold in my ownership but who knows how old it has been stored elsewhere. I will try the PP in another rifle if I can at the range next week.

Thanks for your comments.

HXP, Privi Partisan and S&B are all "slower" than service specification cordite MkVII @ 2440 fps, which can clearly be seen in the elevation POI when you try one against the other.

I've never bothered putting those ammo types through a chrono, but I understand from others that the commercial nitro loads are up to 3% to 7% slower than service cordite.

Here is the print out: 180 g bullets on previously fired PP cases. String 1 and 8 are PP retail.String 2 starts at 38.0 grains going up 0.5 g per string to max 40.5 on string 7, then back to PP for last string 8. Your comments would be interesting. 39.5 g gave best group at 100y.
