New scope time
Well the piggy bank is nearly full and its time for some new glass. I have 4 schmidts and a nightforce on
other cannons and want something to replace the piece of junk on my 20cal.
Mainly to be used at night, I like iluminated ret's.
Wots the consensus on Swarovski eg Z6i 2-12x50 BT or other models in relation to similar schmidt scopes.
best regards

Re: New scope time
So I am guesing from no response no one has swarovski glass on the rifles ??

Re: New scope time
Oddly I didn't get any replies on a scope question either, my question was about IOR 40mm tactical mounts.... Without banging on about IOR it might be worth giving them a look as the do hunting scopes too, not sure what their hunters are like but their tactical ones are good....
Re: New scope time
No view on Swarovisikysky as I could never own a 'scope/rifle/car whose name I could not spell or pronounce. I personally shoot with S&B, Kahles, Kaps and Pecar amongst others and they are all European and all very good, I also shoot with a Nightforce (Spit!)
The Viking however only shoots with IOR and tells everyone they are the best 'scopes ever. The glass is truly superb, I did find the turrets slightly clunky on the earlier ones however that has been changed on the new models. I will know better next month tongueout

Re: New scope time
I'm a dyed in the wool Leupold bloke..... which oddly enough attracts a lot of derision....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: New scope time
Now here is an odd thing, I have a Leupold Mk4 1.5-5 MR/T that is supposed to be a reasonable 'scope and the first thing I did was take it off the rifle and put it on the shelf where it gathers dust in it's box.
Re: New scope time
That's close to blasphemy!!
If you're looking for absolution, I have the perfect gun for that to go on.....

Re: New scope time
I know next to nothing about Swarovskis, if weight is an issue I am not sure the IORs are any good to you, well at least not the one I have, it is rather chunky overall.
Might be worth having a look at the Kahles range, good glass and the weight is ok as well.
