Change of FAC designated club

#1 Post by techguy »

If you're a target shooter, and you are a member of more than one club and you wish to change the designated club on your FAC how would one go about this? Just a letter to the licensing department, with the relevant details and contact details of the club secretary you wish to change to, then send your FAC off for months and months and months for it to be changed?

Phone them up and see what they need, just a letter of notification in my experience was all that was required. If you are no longer a member of your nominated club you do need to notify them as the club will tell them that you have left.

Why bother to notify them, there's no legal requirement to do so on your part.
The club secretarys will need to inform them that you have left the one club, and will have informed them when you applied to join the other so the police should be aware of the situation.

It is best to notify them if you leave or change your designated, primary club. They will not neccessarily know that from the club paperwork they receive.

Email the office, tell them what you're doing, ask them if this is adequate notification, and wait for a reply...........keep a copy of your email with date and time.

That's fair enough then, you need to comply and the easiest way of doing that is by email but ask for a receipt of message just in case. I take back what I said there is a legal requirement in your case.

I did this a couple of years back, just emailed them, they said it was fine and i took my old FAC to the HQ the day after and they swapped it for the new one there and then :good:

Also I guess once you have informed them you could just send your FAC in for them to make the change, much like a 1 for 1 variation.

Except Kent are taking 4 months to do anything with a FAC at the moment, so *any* change takes far longer than it should.
