Anglo Custom Rifles to the best of my knowledge Gavin sold the last of the batch last year, however I haven't seen him in 6 months so maybe he's decided to build another batch?

Hopefully this link will work. These are minutes from an ACPO meeting where Ex S5 straight pull rifles are discussed. Section 12 is the bit that's related to this thread. I'm convinced that I've seen a letter to Anglo but I can't seem to find it.

Not sure but I think that Suffolk have one left that's chambered in .223 : no extraction issues!! I believe that I had the last Anglo one from the last batch that was converted. It was the Wooden one with SUIT that was at last years shooting show. Best to check with the manufacturers to get the latest info as there may be some that I'm not aware of.

12. CLASSIFICATION OF STRAIGHT PULL RIFLES ASSEMBLED USING SOME
COMPONENTS FROM S5(1)(AB) RIFLES
12.1 Members gave careful consideration to the paper submitted by Mark Mastaglio and
spent some time considering a wide range of relevant issues.
12.2 Within the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 ‘weapon’ is different from ‘firearm’ and
particularly in the light of the guidance around s5(1)(ab) component parts being treated
as s1 because of the wording.
12.3 A similar argument applies in this case bearing in mind a significant number of
component parts were originally s1 and given the nature of the s5 that the other
components are taken from as a gas operated system, it would appear this item is s1.
Should that not be the case, however, members agreed that there is no additional
increased risk of public harm as similar items are already available. It doesn’t
necessarily follow, however, that all items of a similar nature would be s1, each
requiring individual assessment.

Morning all,

I think all builders of SP L1's will have ensured that their offerings meet ACPO requirements, after all why wouldn't they, they are bright people and their livelihood (and possibly Liberty) would depend on it....you would have to be certifiably insane not to!!

I believe the reason the SP's are drying up is simply the lack of parts kits to build them up from, as the "Maritime Security" boys are buying stocks of available S5 L1's and parts/spares.

With this in mind, a word of advice to all fellow L1 owners, if you want to keep yours in good shooting condition going forward, start assembling your (none restricted) spares box today.

Items to buy...if you can find them!

Extractor

Ejector block.......still looking for this bugger!

Hammer spring assembly

Cocking handle....... will definitely break at some point, with all those hard extractions!

Long bolt return springs (two intertwined)

All these components break/wear out eventually, going back a couple of years you could get all the above from ebay, but now, getting difficult to find most of these.

Tell me my good man, do you have a warehouse full of L1 parts...if so what have you got...any of the above...
