Our club are affiliated to the NRA and regularly shoot at Bisley. When they first started to extend it to members, we each paid a small amount towards the cost as not everyone wanted to go. Now the fee comes from club funds. For years we just did Short Siberia, roughly once a month, March to October. Some said they wanted to shoot over longer distances so it was suggested Short Siberia every other month and a longer distance in between. We started last year but even after dates were confirmed, some were changed. Our club secretary put our requested dates in as soon a the bookings were opened. As far as I know we have only had one date confirmed so far.
If we could afford to join the NRA we would so we could go when we wanted to.
Who to join?

True, he wont be at Newark but he will be going to the Norwich show in April. On the whole, if you don't see him at a shoot it's because he's working elsewhere.dodgyrog wrote:Although I am a member of the NRA, I believe that BASC do more for the shooter (I am also a member of that organisation).
The NRA ought to move away from Bisley and focus on country wide shooters' needs (I agree with Dromia on that one).
The NRA really have lost touch with their clientelle - when did you last see Glyn Alger get out and about mixing with the rank and file? I bet he cannot be bothered to go to Newark. I didn't even see him at Bisley during the Trafalgar meeting.
