You are missing the point. They tried to bring in new rules, they relented and said that they would carry Deacts and other items and now they refuse.

They can have a thousand different sets of Ts and Cs but when the say they will carry them, then they need changes the Ts and Cs to reflect that. They have not done so and are basically ignoring what they said in the public statements.

As I've stated, RM will carry them but (according to rules) they won't insure to value. PF won't carry them as their T&Cs are different to RM's and always have been. This 'change' of heart by RM will not change a thing with PF.

I am not missing anything:

PARCEL FORCE IS JUST A TRADING NAME ... If you get an invoice from Parcel Force, it comes from ROYAL MAIL, if you work for Parcel Force, you are paid by Royal Mail. They are one and the same company.

Check with Companies House --- the company number they use: 4138203 comes up as ROYAL MAIL, Parcel Force Ltd is a dormant company and held to stop anyone else using the name. Their VAT number GB243170002 is again Royal Mail.


What they are doing is trying to sneak these rules in through a back door.

Our business account is with Parcel Force and they have no issues with shipping firearms for us.

As previously mentioned, I sent a replica pistol via Royal Mail last year. They seized it and sent it to Belfast for 'testing' where it went missing somewhere between the RM depot and NI police.

As first RM tried to argue that it was a restricted item (i.e a real weapon) however I pointed out that it was clearly marked as a replica and was in the manufacturers box which also clearly marked it as such. Their defence since then has been to state that they have the right to sieze any object that they consider to be dangerous to their staff or members of the public! I've gone through 4 stages of appeals and have just had the letter back from POSTR's which basically offered me a tenner for my troubles!!

So even though replica's and de-acts are not on RM's banned items list, if someone decides it looks 'dangerous' they apparently have the right to seize it (and then lose it!) without any comeback.

Hopefully I'll get some sense in small claims court.
